Christmas 2008

29 Dec

Here are some pictures that capture some moments from our immediate family (just the three of us) Christmas this year.

christmas-1The night before Christmas.

That’s everything except for my stocking, which PsychDaddy wasn’t done with.

christmas-2Unwrapping stocking gifts

christmas-3Playing her “flute”

christmas-6“What is it??”

christmas-9The unveiling

Jenna’s gifts included the dollhouse with furniture (thanks to money from her great grandpa), a Melissa & Doug tool set (from a resale shop for $2), and dolls for the dollhouse.  In her stocking, she got a recorder, a harmonica, a wand, a crown, a super-soft, stuffed “baby” monkey, and a jingle bell on a ribbon (like in Polar Express).

This past weekend, we also celebrated Christmas with PsychDaddy’s family and Jenna got gifts from aunts and uncles, cousins and Grandpa and Grandma.  This week, my family is coming, and I’m sure she’ll get more.  Next week, she’ll celebrate her third birthday, and she’ll receive even more gifts.  She’s going to have a tough time adjusting when the gift-giving ends.  She’s already started asking every guest if they brought a surprise.  {Smile}  I love this magical stage she’s at, though.  Everything is amazing and she’s filled with absolute wonder and awe.  This morning, she woke and began singing Edelweiss (mostly correctly) from her crib.  Let the magic never end.

Oh my goodness she is adorable. That dollhouse looks wonderful. And her hair is so short! I’m so used to Boopie’s long hair, since she was born with so much 🙂

    Merry Christmas to all!

(Boop is having a tough time with all the gifts ending, too — we did more for her since we have less family that give gifts, but it was still three straight days of getting something new!)

LOVE the photos. Her eyes. WOW, her eyes. Perfect gifts too. I’m a bit jealous of the only immediate family Christmas. Ours gets a little nutty, lots and lots of people and waaaay too many gifts. Not complaining, just dreaming of quieter attempts in the future 🙂

Yep – I’m a little bit jealous of her eyes and eyelashes! {wink} And a LOT bit worried about her teenage years.

iMommy – She’s had tons of hair since she was born too. The short “do” is a result of me cutting it after her refusal to allow barrettes or pig tails. I asked her if she wanted to let me do her hair or cut it short and she decisively said, “Short!” I think we might try growing it out again and see what happens though.

Heather – I should clarify: Our “QUIET” family Christmas was one day on the Sunday BEFORE Christmas, because the rest of the week, we had 2-16 guests in our house. It was a little crazy and stressful here too, so I definitely know what you mean. That one day was heavenly though! 🙂
