Holiday Greening

10 Nov

Christmas is coming!  If you’re “greening” up your holiday, consider quality, toys made from renewable or recycled products.   This beautiful tea set from Constructive Playthings includes 25 pieces!  Wooden sugar cubes, tea bags, cherries and cookies will be enjoyed for years of pretend tea parties and they’re all crafted from renewable hardwood with water-based paints.  I love it!

Don’t forget that going green can also be more frugal!  This year, I think we’re all looking for ways to make our dollars stretch.

Other ideas for holiday greening include homemade gifts, resale shopping, toy swapping with other families, and skipping the gift-giving entirely.  Sommer from Green & Clean Mom offers even more suggestions (and a giveaway!) here.

our girls have loved all the wooden food sets we’ve purchased.
i might just have to get that tea set…and donate the plastic one someone got us.

i’ve also had fun making felt food. you can make an easy egg out of felt and put it in a plastic easter egg, so they can crack it and cook it…it’s cute.
