For those of you remotely interested in what’s happening in Potty World, I’m here to briefly tell you that today was a MUCH better day. If you don’t like reading about bodily functions of any kind, move on along to this post instead. After no success yesterday (again) there was a lot of frustration in the air. BUT, we had one pee success in the morning (prompted by me sitting her on the potty), one pee accident on the living room floor (hallelujah hardwood!!) about three minutes after she got off the potty, and then, this evening……
The clouds parted, the light of heaven shined down upon us, a chorus of angels sang, “Aaaaaaah” (in harmony of course), and Jenna took off running toward the bathroom saying, “Oh NO!” I have to poop!” And, lo and behold: THERE WAS POOP! IN THE POTTY!!
We totally thought it was a false alarm, but we’re not arguing with any self-initiated sitting at this point. She sat for about one minute and then she grinned and said, “Did you hear that?” A little peek into the potty, and the celebration began. She was SO proud of herself! She wanted to call all the Grandmas and Pappas and tell them the news (and we did). She proudly put a sticker on the chart and selected her prize: a Schleich puppy (she LOVES those critters).
So, I’m feeling much more hopeful and ready to face the next couple days. We’re committed through Sunday and then we’ll see from there which direction we go. And, yes – the photos show our Potty World setup in our tiny little main floor bathroom, complete with portable DVD player (propped up on a beanbag and Amazon box), a stool to rest her feet on, the princess cushioned seat, and a pillow for her to lean against. How could elimination be any more enjoyable??
