Walking to the farmer’s market

07 Jul

Jenna loves going to the farmer’s market with me. As part of our efforts to “go green” this year, we committed to shopping as much as we can from our local farmer’s market. We’re trying to support local farmers, purchase produce that didn’t have to be shipped a long distance, and eat more organic and healthy foods in the process. Our local market is still somewhat limited in what they have to offer, but it’s a start. Hopefully, we’re also teaching Jenna about being a conscientious consumer. Right now, I’m just glad she loves it so much. Here are a couple pictures from one of our walks to the market.

A little anxious about the noisy traffic and Mommy stepping away from her…

That is a brilliant idea. I love seeing kids at the farmer’s market trying out strawberries, apples and all sorts of new things. What they like to eat when they grow up really depends on what they ate when they were little. Plus, it’s so fun to explore the farmer’s market – much better than the freezing cold atmosphere inside supermarkets. Jenna is adorable.

Oh, isn’t she cute? I love the pigtails.

You are so fortunate to have a farmer’s market within walking distance from where you live. That is actually one of my dreams for our next house. I want to be able to walk/bike to the grocery store or a market…

    Stephanie –

We feel very fortunate. Weekly trips to the farmer’s market are among my favorite things, and I hope we’re making great memories with Jenna too.

Thanks for stopping by! Her cheeks do seem to be made for pinching…
